🚀 WALL-E Project Kick-off

We officially kicked off the WALL-E project! The meeting brought together the full project team and most partners, enabling a very productive exchange of ideas, scientific discussion, and the definition and coordination of the main tasks for the coming months.

With the team now aligned, we move forward with WALL-E’s mission to enhance the air purification capacity of green walls by integrating sustainable solutions, contributing to healthier and more resilient cities. 🌍🌱

In addition to the team at the University of Aveiro (@cesam_univ @dbio_ua @biomicrolab @funplantlab), Universidade Católica Portuguesa (@catolica_porto @cbqf_catolica) and Smallmatek, Lda, the project is also supported by @greenroofs_by_ancv @neoturfespacosverdes @cmporto.

The WALL-E project explores how green walls can be enhanced with beneficial microorganisms to improve air pollution removal in urban environments. By integrating microbial consortia encapsulated with biochar into green wall substrates, we aim to boost the capacity of these nature-based solutions to clean the air and support healthier cities.

O projeto WALL-E explora como as paredes verdes podem ser melhoradas com microrganismos benéficos para aumentar a remoção de poluentes do ar em ambiente urbano. Através da incorporação de consórcios microbianos encapsulados com biochar no substrato, pretendemos aumentar a eficiência destas soluções baseadas na natureza.
