WALL-E explores innovative strategies to enhance the performance of green walls for urban air pollution mitigation.

 

The project investigates the use of beneficial microbial consortia encapsulated with biochar, designed to be incorporated into green wall substrates to improve the removal of airborne pollutants.

By combining environmental microbiology, plant–microbe interactions, and nature-based solutions, WALL-E aims to optimize green infrastructure systems and contribute to healthier and more resilient urban environments.
